There's No Place Like Home

Gee . . . all we had to do all along was click our heels three times and say, 'There's no place like home.' Did you ever wonder why Glenda didn't tell Dorothy that in the first place?

We're home! We were finally discharged at 7:00, drove home, gave Annie her 8:00 meds just in time for her 9:00 meds, now we've got ten minutes before she gets her 10:00 meds. Then, we get to sleep. This update's gonna be rather short, but I did want to let you all know that we all got home safely, Annie seems no worse for wear from the trip home, and we're all looking forward to a good night sleep in our own home.

Our next update will be this weekend on this blog. As this chapter closes, we'll also close the Caringbridge site. We've saved all of your notes on that site, as well as all the journal entries. We'll be including them all in Annie's scrapbook.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I don't know what else to say. Thank you for all your prayers.

God bless,

Bill.

Bill and Jean - Blessings to you all. As one chapter closes, another opens with so much opportunity! I am delighted you are all home - one family under the same roof, praise God! Continue to gather your strength in the Lord. I am so encouraged by your testimony and faith. I will close with an insert from my morning's devotion:

Although God will not save us from troubles, he will protect us in the midst of them. In Psalm 91:4, the psalm writer encourages us to put out faith in God's protection.

He will shield you with his wings. He will shelter you with his feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

I will pray with ceasing for you all! In Him, Susan

Hey Sullivan’s,

I am so glad that you have included us in your journal updates. We have been thinking of you and praying for you often. I have been following your journey over the past few months and want you to know how much you mean to us. I share in your excitement that Annie was able to come home. Yeah!!! After going through so much with my dad this past year, I also understand the ambivalence associated with it. I pray for God’s strength and discernment, that you will be confident in your decisions and at peace knowing that you have Annie’s best interests at heart. I also pray that God will continue to bless you on this amazing journey. Oh yes, and rest, we can’t forget about that!

Have a great week. We love you guys!

Whew!!!! Replace the one hour drive to the hospital and back with walks around your beautiful garden, dinner at the table as a family, prayer time in the morning with Annie right there listening, tubbie time to release the dreads, and oodles of love, hugs, handholding, and kisses from both Parental Units and all the Sibling Units all at one time. Goodness gracious, how is a princess to find time to reign?????

Dear Annie, et al,
I am so glad you are home, but I miss our nearly-daily visits in your room around the corner from me, there are no other princesses to see!
Jean, I DO hope you have the sense to call me if you need to...you know I am "here" for you, where-ever that may be, and you are all firmly in my prayers.

"Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, "We have seen remarkable things today." Luke 5:26.

Home
The walls which hold us in
The walls which stay together
The walls which offer shelter
from a storm
beneath the protective roof
of God’s own hand

Home
Where the love of family lives
Where comfort and joy can soar
Where eagles' wings can grow
and little girls can fly

Home
Where the corners hold secrets of the past
which even the vacuum can’t reach
Where dishes remember
the warm meals enjoyed around the table
together
Where the pillows hold dreams
which remain there for the next night’s sleep
Where the entryway sparkles
with the footsteps of Jesus

Home
A place to sigh with relief
A place to sit IN a chair,
not ON it
A place to pour oneself
into a couch
and stay for awhile
A place to freely roam
in one's slippers

Home
Where the food is warmer
Where the beds are 'just right'
Where the coffee tastes better
And the showers are hot

Home
what a wonderful place to be.

Welcome home.
