Home again, home again jiggity jig

Happy to be home again. And happy I don't have to worry about doctors coming into the living room at dark thirty to smell my morning breath. But we do appreciate all the work each doctor and nurse and therapy friend did for Annie this whole last month, and I will miss the daily feedback and support each of them provided. We made some special friends there & we'll miss them.:(

This morning Annie's friends from Rehab Without Walls came to our house and began putting her through her paces again. No slacking here just because you're home from the hospital, y'know. She took a nap after they left, then we went out for a walk in the sunshine. I am so glad it's almost summer.

What's new? We're working on getting a tricycle like we used in the hospital. A matter for prayer. Riding that trike is something she can DO, and have FUN while DOING it. It's the little things you begin to appreciate more, right? Check out the new picture of biker Annie below. She had just come back from getting an EEG and she looked like the old guy in Back to the Future. Only thing missing is her leathers.

What to pray for? Annie has alot of strength, but not alot of coordination. Her therapists are going to work hard on weight-bearing exercises in her legs, and in her arms and torso so that she can crawl, climb stairs and walk. Pray that her cognitive awareness come back along with her motor skills. Please keep praying that she relearn talking and eating. I know I sound like a broken record.

Jean

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, Yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’”
Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:1-8

You are not a broken record! And even if you were, you would be music to my ears. I love these updates. I hope and pray that I never sound cavalier. I know this isn't easy; At the same time, I realize that I have barely an inkling of how hard this must be for you all. But I do know this, Annie is getting better and stronger little by little. She has not plateaued. This is definite cause for celebration. And she smiled! What a milestone. I don't think I have you on a pedistal, but I do believe God gave Annie just the right parents/family. You glorify God and that makes me proud. And that's the truth! (I Thessalonians 5:16-18.)
Guess what? Ever heard of Fishnet Theatre? It is a Christian theater group based in Bothell. Barry Stainer and Brent Stainer are on the board. (They live in Brier?) Anyway, I recently met them because I auditioned for a show they are producing and I got a part! So I will be traveling to Bothell approx once a week until we start "touring" every weekend (beginning in September. I think if will be fun. (Don't worry, I confessed about my stint as an Angry Housewife. And if you don't know what I am talking about....... ........................nevermind!)
Love,
Terri

Love all of the Sullivans. Love the Lord who made us all. Love the fact that you continue to blog about Annie's (and your) journey. Love the you give us specific needs for prayer. Love the verses you end each post with.

Terri hit the nail on the head: Annie is with the right family.

God is good.

Hi all of my lovely Sullivan people!! I agree with Terri and friends - if this kind of thing happens in life - and it does - God couldn't have chosen a better family to deal with this. And, you are not a broken record, Jean. Aunt Janet and I talked about this last night and agreed that PATIENCE is a major part of what is bringing Annie "home" - and Jean and Bill - you have an abundance of patience. Annie thanks you, your extended family thanks you and your friends thank you. She is a lucky girl to have the both of you on her side. Thank you, God, for Bill and Jean!
We all love you - all of you....

Thank you, guys, for the kind words. Yeah, Sue--patience--I sure need more of it. I've thought more than once that if there was a "fast-forward" button on this gig, I'd push it. I need MORE patience--RIGHT NOW!!

Love you:)

May God infuse you with patience
and strengthen you in this call
and may He bless you with peace
may His arms envelope you all.

Your needs, sometimes, are the same
from this to the next day and so on
we can only know if you tell us
for that's all we have to go on.

Be as honest as your heart can stand
to tell us your needs every day
if you're blue we want to know that too
and we cry with you as we pray.

When your needs are the same
so are ours
for we're in this with you all the way
as humans we aren't strong towers;
all we can do
is love you
and pray.

Lord, we ask you again
to heal our Annie this day
our prayers won't cease until then
and we will continue to pray
for patience and strength for them all
through the hardest time of their lives
we know not one of us can
no matter how each of us strives
for You are the only great Healer
and none can do it but You
so we ask again that you heal her
and bless them in all that they do.

Amen.
