Still working on the video. Gotta get it down to a manageable 3 minutes, down from the hour or so of footage I took. Oops.

I took Annie to her 3 and 4 year old's class at church yesterday and she sat at the table with her friends. I looked around and noticed that Annie is just about the tallest kid in the class. She's huge. I was wondering why, when I picked her up, her feet would still be dragging on the floor. What's up with these huge kids around here?? Pretty soon, I'm going to be the shortest one in my house. And I'm 5' 10"!! Anyway--she seemed to enjoy being in the classroom. For awhile. Too much activity can overwhelm her--which is common for people with brain injuries. Or menopausal women. So we left.

Today we tried the swing again. I sang Kumbaya just like her cousins, Grace and Aileen. She seemed much more calm in the swing in spite of my singing and held on with both hands. Her right hand continues to make great progress in grasping, and now when she drinks water from the syringe she brings her arm and hand up to her mouth, instead of positioning her head to go down to the syringe. Does that make sense? I'm rereading that, and I'm not sure it makes sense. This is what happens when all your kids come home from summer camp. Concentration drops to the level of a gnat.

One smile from you

Just one smile from you
Will make me forget
All the fears and worries I knew
Will melt away thanks to you

Just one smile from you
Will cure me so fast
And all the fears and worriers I knew
Will melt away, thanks to you

Just one smile from you
Will cure me so fast
And all the fears and worries I knew
Will melt away, thank god

I am so amazed everytime I read all these blogs from Annies day to day activites. You praise and rejoice when she does things that we take for granted everyday. Annie has made such amazing progress, its a testament to Gods great power that she has done as well as she has! Praise God for he is good :) I look forward to hearing/seeing more of Annies improvements and smiles :)

God Bless you all,

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...and then by our faith lo and behold He blesses us by letting us see the evidence of our faith, like hanging on as we push her in a swing, bringing hand to mouth instead of mouth to hand, enjoying, for a time, joining her friends at the table.

Oh what joy faith brings
what signs we see,
when we open our eyes
and let Him light the scene,
illuminate our vision by His grace.
Ye for faith
ye for Annie
ye for God, the Author, Perfector, Finisher.

Yes, incidentally, the description of her bringing her head down to the syringe makes sense. Maybe it's my concentration...By the way, concentration also drops to that level when you DON'T have kids coming home from camp, and...uh ohh...

From one gnat to another...

Jean, Tracey is right about the concentration... that happens when you don't have kids at ALL!!! :) But it is so neat that Annie was able to sit with her class and is gaining more focus, drinking the water and "stuff." I know others join me when I say we will all keep on praying and praying for her healing, and for all off you as a family!!

Praying, always praying...

God is good to answer these prayers. Annie is making giant leaps in some areas and baby steps in others. How great is our God, to let us see these measurable successes, and the immeasurable success of her sweet heart and spirit. Blessings, Gretchen

BTW, I think your concentration is awesome! I can only imagine how bone weary you are at times, Jean. I'm praying God's love and rest upon you. And peace. Always peace. love, gretchen
