Standing in the need of prayer

I was thinking that our room here at Children's is like another space on the Bingo card, and maybe after we have a row of room numbers crossed out, we can win and get out of here--permanently. Wouldn't that be cool? The room backing up to this one is the room Annie was in the first time we were here. We've been in seven so far.

The doctors and nurses are working overtime to figure her out, so I am thankful for that. The people here really care for Annie, and spend lots of time trying to treat her complicated problems. Right now, they are looking into the possibility of a vagus nerve stimulator (VNS) implant as another seizure therapy. Her seizures are not giving up or going away, and medicine just isn't doing the trick. So that's a continuing prayer request--that God would heal her seizures, with or without medical help. Tomorrow she'll have an MRI to see if there are any anatomical reasons not to place the VNS.

On the gastrointestinal front, we started a medicine for her nausea today, and hopefully that'll kick in and start working soon. And on the endocrine front, she's been a bit dehydrated through this last week, so we're pushing fluids into her as fast as she will tolerate it.

Thanks again for ALL your prayers you pray in your car, at your kitchen sink, in your office, and when you hit the pillow at night. We are in need of every one.

"It is not enough for the believer to begin to pray, nor to pray correctly; nor is it enough to continue for a time to pray. We must patiently, believingly continue in prayer until we obtain an answer." George Mueller

Sending more prayers early this morning, that God will heal Annie completely and that He will lead and guide the doctors to figure out what is going on.

And I begin again
and I lose my way
and I begin again
to pray
and I may not pray correctly
and I may not say it right
and I may struggle to find the time
knowing that I must make the time

I must patiently
believingly
continue

Though patience
wanes
and turns to frustration

Though believing leaves us
questioning why

We must continue
toward the foot of the cross
where so many things lay
where we can leave anything

Where we find Him.

And we must wait
to obtain an answer
as we patiently
believingly
continue

And we must return
to the foot of the cross
and lay our burdens down

Where we find Him.

What a wonderful thing it is
that though we lose our patience
though we question why
though we continue
with our feet are mired in clay

What a wonderful thing it is
that we can go
to the foot of the cross
repeatedly

There

where we find Him.

And I begin again
to pray...
