A Birthday Fit for a Princess

Annie's turning seven today. Seven on the seventh. We are trying to figure out what kind of ice cream she might allow a taste of--what flavor might she not throw up? It's a conundrum. Olivia is planning to make her a Funfetti cake, which is probably also something she won't allow past her lips. More for us, though, so not a total loss.

I strolled her through the mall yesterday in her wheelchair, looking for what might be a good present. Hmm...we stopped by the Build-a-Bear store, and she looked at the moving bear in the window. She didn't seem real interested, though--and the bear was a little creepy looking. Then we stopped in front of the Disney store. Every time I take her in there she looks like she's about to seize. Sheesh...I never know what to get her. I settled on a couple of tops and some hair bows from Gymboree. Hope she likes them.

On the way home, we stopped at a light and I turned around to offer her a drink from her sippy cup. She choked on it and then had that red-faced look that says: "Find a bucket or someone's going to wear my lunch." Great, I thought, no bucket under the seat. Why can I never find that bucket when I need it? Right about the time the light turned green, she exploded. After the first eruption, I did find a plastic cup which didn't hold much.

Last night as I was sitting on the kitchen floor washing the car seat, I thought it's okay for her to do that every once in awhile--forces me to spring-clean the car seat cover. And the straps. And the floor mat. And seat back...

I think I need a piece of that cake.

I think you need more than a piece of cake!

Both new pictures on her side bar are precious. LOVE the one with her and Olivia. There is no brain injury in that picture--just 2 sisters who love each other.

Sorry about the car hurl, though. Perhaps a toast to her good health with your favorite libation.

Well, if you guys say so, I'll cut a piece and eat it too!

I think you hang out with people that encourage your addictions.

Unlike myself, of course.
