How Deep The Father's Love for Us

How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross
My guilt upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no powr's, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Thank You, Jesus. My words seem so weak. But...thank You.

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;

The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.

O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.

When years of time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men, who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song.

Refrain

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

Beautiful music

the first time I heard the one Marilyn shared was when Pastor Chuck Smith came out, sat down on the stage steps, and sang it a capella, solo.

Amazing

Dear Jean, I have been reading your blog for about 6 months. You and your family have shown amazing strength and endurance. Your daughter has truly touched my life. I am deeply sorry for your loss, That your little girl had to go thru so much, but know that it was not invain....God has used your family to bless me and give me courage. Our son is sick. His future is uncertain. May God grant me the strength to be strong for my Zachy as you have been so strong for Annie.
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry,
Till final breath
Jesus comands my destiny.....
Love In Christ, Tanis

Thank you for sharing this, Tanis. I will pray for you & Zach. I looked on your blog--it's a tough thing to try to manage/figure out/caregive/love/trust through situations like Zach's. Very difficult. I have to tell you, the line of the song you included at the end of your post is a song we sang at Annie's memorial service. I love those words: Jesus commands my destiny.
Love--Jean
