Mixed blessings on Mother's Day

When thinking about what to write this Mother's Day, I ran across this excellent blog post from last year. It pretty much says it all...some of us celebrate this day, some of us grieve. And, probably most--like me-- do a little of both:

I celebrate because I had a mother who loved me, and loved Jesus.

But I grieve her because she left this earth when I was only 26.

I celebrate because God blessed me with seven wonderful children.

But I grieve because one of them is in heaven.

Yet for all of the mix of happiness and sorrow, motherhood is a worthy calling, and I am grateful to be a mom and grandmother! And this Mother's Day, I thank God for the children He has given me, and trust Him for the good things to come--both in this life and the next.

Children are a gift from the Lord. Psalm 127:3

I agree. It brings boundless joys and blessings and some almost unbearable sorrows.

Happy Mother's Day, my friend.

Continuing love and prayers,

Well, thank you, Jeff. I hope I do carry on her legacy. Maybe not her DRIVING legacy...but the other stuff. ;-)

Love you.
