TTT

Today we had a normal day. Like most of you have. Annie didn't throw up or have a seizure, and we didn't go to a doctor's appointment or to the hospital. We worked in the yard, washed the cars, and went to the grocery store. It was a fabulous day. Before January 21st, Annie had been my grocery store companion at least three times a week, but for the last five months, I've pushed an empty cart down the aisles at Fred Meyer. I think I stopped crying about it at the beginning of April. But today Annie's brother, David, pushed her in her stroller while Taylor and I filled our grocery cart. Who would have ever thought that going to Fred Meyer would be a milestone?

It reminds me of a poem my mother had on the wall in our house when I was growing up:

Put up in a place
where it's easy to see
the cryptic admonishment
T.T.T.

When you feel how depressingly
slowly you climb,
it's well to remember that
Things Take Time. Piet Hein

Brain injuries take a long time to heal. But I keep seeing more and more of Annie--and more "normal" days. PT Debbie worked with her this morning, and I took a picture of her practicing standing. Take a look below. Annie also is really scooting around more--and I think I need to get the gate up by the stairs pretty quick.

Anyway--that's world news tonight. I probably won't update this again until after Monday. We're headed back to Children's that day for an opthamology appointment--to see what, if any, visual problems Annie has. We know she can see, but we don't know if she occasionally has double vision or ?? Please pray that God heal her vision completely. And please keep praying that she begin to talk. I get tired of just hearing my voice all the time. I'm sure Annie does too!!

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand. Zechariah 4:10

Yay God! Isn't it amazing how we fail to appreciate the "normal" daily things until we lose them! I am rejoicing with you in EVERY step you and Annie regain together. How special that you were able to take her to Freddy's! Thanks for the picture updates... super to see her standing!!!

Jean,

What a difference in this picture and the first picture we saw of Annie after the seizure!

God is good.....all the time!

I'm so happy for your news about how you have your "grocery store companion" back!

May God continue to shower His blessings on you...and Annie....and the rest of the Sullivan clan!

Praying for His continued grace and mercy,
Marilyn

oh, and "Happy Birthday" to me! :)

Jean... after my first post I wished I had commented too... the difference in the pictures is amazing. This one shows so much more "alertness" in the face and eyes... general expression. And I noticed that when I saw her at church on Sunday too! Praise God for Annie's healing, and we will keep praying for His complete restoration!!!

Blessings to all! Love the standing pictures. Her level of awareness and attention has risen so dramatically--I know the speech is not far behind. The language is in there! I.Know.It.

Thank you Annie and all for the pictures and update. Thank God for the 'tincture of time'.........even though we would all like an instant healing.
Love,
Terri

Was in the process of trying to locate a new Endo Dr when I came across this posting. I too, have Addisons that went diagnosed from early childhood (primary and secondary). Now at age 52 and only diagnosed about three or four years ago, after devastating effects of being undiagnosed all those years, I can fully sympathize with what Annie is going through. Her sad face certianly reflects the effects of this disease when it's undiagnosed. There is little support it seems, but there is a support group in the area that meets once or twice a year usually. (I am a Shoreline WA resident) My condition has left me disabled since 1998 but the Dr's never caught it.

I wish for Annie and your family and friends all the best of God's love and support. I hope and pray she can heal fully!

If I can be of support, insight or info to you or anyone, on what it's like to live with this disease, don't be afraid to ask. We need all the support and friends we can get. (public email: ckrokit@yahoo.com and use subject line: "addisons"

Best Wishes, Prayers and thoughts are with you!
