More better :)

I was thinking today about my droopy attitude this last week or so, and God brought to mind the verses in 1 Corinthians 13 about what love is and what love does. And as I was reading that love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things, I was reminded of how much I need God's power--I am helpless to do this Annie gig in my own strength.

So--last post I mentioned I'd like to see Annie to reach for things more. This weekend, while I was at our church's women's retreat, (yea Bill for holding down the fort!) Annie began to reach to the side--not just down in front of her. With Both Hands. Like I said in the comments of the last post, my son Taylor saw her playing with one of her toys, and pointed out that the last time he saw her--a couple of weeks ago--she didn't play with her toys like she's doing now. Thank you, Lord!!

Something else new--after Bill & I put her in her bed tonight, she kept looking behind her at the quilt on the wall. It has colorful fish on it, and she kept turning around to look at it, whereas before, she hadn't seemed to notice it. And another subtle change is her cry--sometimes when she cries it seems that she's really just sad about not being able to talk. :( She's not screaming nearly as much as she had been, but this cry is a little different and a little more "aware."

One thing to pray about--her drop seizures are over the top today. I counted about 14. They're only a second or so long, but we really need them to stop. They are probably a result of the viral infection that she still has--which is yet another thing to pray about.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Praise God that when we are weak, His great strength is displayed through us. I pray for the sustaining power of His Holy Spirit to fill you. I praise God for your testimony. I ask God for His healing power to touch every part of Annie, that her brain function would be restored, her speech unchained and her limbs set free, that Jesus name may be glorified through her. Amen

Love is a wonderful thing
an amazing thing
a mysterious thing

Love has different faces
different moods
different ways

But always
love is true;
love is kind;
love is patient;
love is
what God has made it;
love is
what we need
at any moment in time;
when we least expect it,
when we need it most,
when we didn't ask,
when we didn't even know
our heart was crying out
for just a little more

It's okay;
that's what love is for;
to fill the hollow places,
to soothe the wounded parts,
to warm the cold,
to settle the restless,
to hold
the broken and falling apart.

is God manifested.

Dear Lord, I come to the throne and cry out for you to heal Annie completely and supernaturally. I know Your ways are Yours alone, and my tunnel vision colors my perceptions, but this is the desire of my heart. Amazing, incredible, faithful God, I praise You for Your will today. In Jesus' name, amen.

Thanks for praying Gretchen--and T & Sue & anonymous and all of you! It is so encouraging to me that God motivates you to pray for Annie--and specifically for God to heal her.

Bill & I talked this morning that in the Bible, Abraham waited 25 years for God to give him the son He had promised him. I don't think it's irrational to live in the moment but---keep praying for your heart's desire.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Hmmm... I was going to post a "love" poem I wrote based on 1 Cor. 13 but remembered I moved and don't have a clue where it is. But I'm thinking it and praying tonight... and will share it as soon as I find out what box it is in! Aha! I just remembered... it is on my website!
