There was an old woman...

So--the reason I haven't posted for so long is I have lots of kids. I actually have 6 of these blogs running--one for each kid--and it's just really hard to keep them all current. It's a 24-hour job. I do it in my sleep.

Okay, I don't have 6 blogs.

Annie is still gagging and throwing up. She threw up yesterday at school and today. I have no idea why we're here again. I don't think it's a lack of hydrocortisone, because I tanked her up with it today, and she was still gaggy. I guess I think it might simply be the fat in the ketogenic diet, but I'm reluctant to admit that to myself, because if this diet doesn't work, that's not good. I think. I'm going to talk to the dietician tomorrow and see if we can come up with some more ideas. I thought it might be her vitamins making her nauseous, but I didn't give them to her this morning, and she threw up anyway.

They say to give the Ketogenic diet a 3-month trial before you throw in the towel. Well, if she can't tolerate the fat--if that is, in fact, why she's gaggy, I'm not sure what the next step is.

More prayers!

Jean

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. James 1:2-3

I'm soooo glad you don't have 6 blogs!

Just poppin' in to let you know I am praying for a break-through in the gagging puzzle. I'm so sorry you're there again.

Haven't yet gotten up that way (obviously). It's the end-of-year with our last graduate.

With a hug,
Beth

Don't give up on the diet. You've posted too many good things since you started it.

you said it yourself - the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Hang in there!

Six blogs, eh? Do you fly, too? ;)

I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm so sorry about this valley, Jean. Of course I'm praying.

jean, you have the most wonderful legacy of the whole priest family; equally amongst the sullivan family. one day your children's children will further your legacy. so, you've got challenges today. as you have agreed in your blog - consider it all joy! you're rewards are great and your Lord and Savior will see you through this, and the trials of tomorrow. i so know that God's work through annie has furthered His kingdom. your trials are part and parcel to His greatest plan ever - that of furthering His kingdom for His glory. hang in there sister! i love you! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! you are a spectacular mother. BTW - i know why God chose you to be annie's mother. He did so because he knew that you would provide EXACTLY the kind of love that she would require:) i really do appreciate having you as one of my older sisters,,, happy mother's day, jean. i love you,,,

Thanks, Beth, Rebecca, Sue, Gretchen, & Jeff--I so appreciate your encouragement. Sometimes this situation just sucks--I yell at my kids for saying that--but sometimes it really does.

Love you guys--Jean

LOL.
And praying.

Cuz you're right. Some things just don't seem like they should have to be. (i.e. they suck).

(and I yell at my kids for saying it, too).

I hope you have a moment of two in your Mother's Day Weekend that is clearly a gift from God especially for you.

Jean, I started writing this three different times, and deleted them all.

I think of you, and I am at a loss for words.
