The feeding therapy appointment at Children's went well. We identified a couple of goals before actually eating:
1. Increase rate of g-tube feedings, so we can space them further apart and thereby create appetite. Right now, the feedings are sloooow (because she STILL is gaggy), and she is being fed about 3 hours, 3 times a day. Getting that down to 1 1/2 hours a day will take much prayer.
2. Nix the gagginess & vomiting. People who vomit alot don't want to put food in their mouths. Go figure.
3. Sit her at the table 3x a day. Practical point: ditch the highchair that doesn't fit her and get an appropriate chair that can sit up to the table, but also support her.
If this sounds like deja-vu all over again, we have been working on relearning eating since last summer, in fits and starts, as her medical condition allowed. It is frustrating to begin again, and again, and again. What can I say? Someday we'll be in heaven, and I'll sit beside Annie at the wedding supper of the Lamb. And she won't have a g-tube.

Praying to end the gagginess, and to return to normalcy with feeding. You are on the right track, Jean. You have been so faithful for your daughter. It's H.A.R.D. to pick yourself up again and again and when you see your little one having a hard time. But you do. God is in you. Hold on tight, and know we stand in the gap.

Jean... yes, that is true. BUT just because others are also going through difficult times does not mean that God cares any less about YOURS!!! :)

Jean... just wanted to add that I share your posts with my best friend Karen in Florida; she is faithful in prayer for Annie. She consistently comments on your amazing trust in the Lord and uplifting comments, knowing what a difficult time you are going through. Your trust in God is blessing so many others. But we all know it is NOT easy... and keep you in our prayers.

It was so good to see Annie and Jean in church while I was home. I even got to say hello to Annie, it brightened my day to see that she has made vast improvements. I keep praying that she will contiue to improve, and that God will give her and her family strength. I look forward to seeing Annie again when I come home next year (or maybe sooner...)
