Once upon a time...

There was a little girl who loved to read books. Then she had a brain injury and didn't like books so much anymore. Her mind couldn't settle down enough to look at the pictures on the pages. Her body was too fidgity to sit still on her mother's lap. This made her mother very sad.

After many months, her mother tried to read to her little girl again. She opened a book about farm animals that made noises. This caught the little girl's attention. She looked at the pictures, and heard the noises and laughed. Books suddenly seemed more interesting to the little girl.

Then one day, the mother read the girl a book that didn't make noise. The little girl looked at the pictures and followed along with the story, and laughed at the story, even though the book didn't make any noise. Then the mother read a few more of the books that the little girl used to like to read before her brain injury. The little girl loved every story, and looked at all the pictures and laughed at all the funny parts. This made the mother very happy.

That night, when the mother tucked the little girl into bed, she thanked the Lord for healing the little girl's brain just a little bit more.

The End.

PS I don't think it's the end. It's just the beginning! When I saw the new video of Annie, I was so encouraged. Aside from that, her excitement and interaction with you and the mirror reminded me of my 9 month old granddaughter. I didn't mention that because I thought you might find that discouraging since Annie is 5 now. I found it encouraging however. Annie looked just like any bright and happy 9 month old. And look! A short time later she has matured to patiently sitting and looking and laughing at books without noises. It looks to me like she is moving right along. I am so thankful. Thank you so much for sharing the steps with us.
Love,
Terri W

What an answer to prayer. She's had to start over in every way, Jean...and so have you. Yes, thank You God, indeed, for healing her brain each and every day.

PS and BTW, you keep reading to her, y'hear?! It's all going in. :)

Jean....I sit hear with tears streaming down my face for I know how Annie loved to crawl up on your lap with her blankie and read book after book after book. I know too how precious it was to share those times with her. I rejoice with you that God has restored more of her brain and allowed this precious time yet again. God is good all the time and I join you in thanking in Him!
